Welcome to My Architecture Projects

Rooted in a deep connection between design and nature, my architectural projects explore the delicate balance between the built environment and the natural world. Each project is an investigation into how architecture can not only respond to but also enhance its surroundings, fostering sustainability, community, and well-being.

From Botanic Revive, a visionary park designed to depollute industrial landscapes through phytoremediation, to Employ Plymouth, an employment incubator aimed at breaking cycles of deprivation through thoughtful urban regeneration, my work reflects a commitment to addressing contemporary challenges with innovative, environmentally conscious solutions.

Enclosure delves into the harmonization of architecture with nature, creating spaces that evoke joy and healing through ecotherapy, while Mayflower Housing provides critical emergency housing by repurposing disused urban spaces for families in need. Each project is defined by a sensitivity to context, materiality, and the communities they serve, ensuring that architecture remains a dynamic, transformative force in shaping both people and places.

Explore these projects to discover how design can be a catalyst for positive change.

Botanic Revive: The Phyto Park

Part II MArch Architecture Project

Botanic Revive addresses rising sea levels and urban pollution through phytoremediation, using plants to detoxify soil and water on a site with an industrial legacy. The project transforms the neglected area into a green community space, reintroducing public access to the sea and integrating ecological cleanup with recreation. Modular structures, built using Assembly-Adaptability-Disassembly-Reuse principles, support the remediation process. Once completed, the site will serve as a community asset, fostering environmental stewardship and reconnecting residents with both nature and the waterfront.

Enclosure: Harmonizing Architecture with Nature

Part II MArch Architecture Project

Enclosure is an ecotherapy retreat designed to blend seamlessly with its natural surroundings near Hinkley Point. Using locally sourced materials like seaweed insulation, limestone, and timber, the project embraces organic forms that harmonize with the landscape. Focused on fostering well-being, the retreat promotes deep connections with nature, offering a tranquil sanctuary that enhances both environmental and emotional health.

Employ Plymouth: Employment Incubator

Part I BA Architecture stage 3 Project

Employ Plymouth is a transformative project aimed at breaking the cycle of deprivation in Stonehouse by providing education, employment support, and wellbeing services. Initially conceived as a Wellbeing Hub, it evolved into a holistic Employment Incubator, empowering residents with the skills needed for workforce integration. Its bold architectural design connects Stonehouse to the city center, symbolizing progress and revitalization within the community.

Mayflower Housing: Emergency and Affordable Residential Project

Part I BA Architecture Stage 3 Project

Mayflower Housing addresses the need for emergency family housing by repurposing disused commercial spaces in the city center. Using sustainable construction techniques like Cross Laminated Timber (CLT), the project revitalizes the urban core while fostering community interaction and social cohesion, offering a supportive environment for residents.

Extension and renovation : Seaton Cornwall

Project for GB building Limited

In June 2019, I took over a renovation project involving interior updates, a front extension, and rear landscaping. After the original architect became unavailable and poor workmanship necessitated replacing all joists and floors, I worked with a structural engineer to install a large steel frame for the extension. To support the client in visualizing the design, I provided simplified plans and 3D renderings, enabling her to make informed decisions and adjustments as the project advanced.

The Lookout Preston Seafront

Project for Spence Property Services Limited

Spence Property Solutions Ltd, a property regeneration firm near Plymouth, specializes in converting properties into HMOs and self-contained flats. On their latest project, The Lockout, a former B&B on Preston Seafront, I conducted a detailed survey and created floor plans to explore its potential. These plans helped the firm present the project to local estate agents and assess viability. Despite thorough cost analysis and market research, Spence Property Solutions ultimately decided not to move forward with the project.

Modern living: Extension Plymouth

Project for GB building Limited

In collaboration with G B Building Contractors, I developed detailed plans and visualizations for a prospective client to accurately capture and convey their vision for a new home. After assessing the client's needs, I presented three distinct design proposals, each with comprehensive visualizations to aid in decision-making. Although another company executed the final construction, my designs and visuals provided the critical foundation for the project's successful realization.

The Hive: Camping refuge

Part I BA Architecture stage 2 in partnership with Dartington Trust

The Cooperage @ RYL

Part I BA Architecture Stage 2 Project

The Royal William Yard project revitalized the area into a vibrant community hub. I preserved the historic industrial architecture while integrating modern elements, including an indoor street vendor market, residential units above, and a connecting passageway. This design blends the yard’s heritage with contemporary uses, creating a dynamic, interconnected space for residents and visitors.

Boardwalk @ The Embankment

Part I BA Architecture stage 2 Project

The Embankment Regeneration project revitalizes the Laira area by transforming the old train depot into a vibrant performance venue and cultural hub. It includes the development of an embankment boardwalk and a cycle hub, linking Plymouth's city center with Dartmoor National Park. The boardwalk offers a scenic waterfront pathway, while the cycle hub provides eco-friendly transportation, enhancing connectivity and promoting community engagement.
